Airoha Announced the World’s Smallest & Lowest power consumption 802.11g RF IC
　

Airoha Technology, Corp., a global leader in wireless communication semiconductors, today announces the world’s smallest IEEE 802.11g ultra low power consumption single chip RF transceiver targeting embedded and portable wireless applications.

The AL2239 is the most integrated 802.11 b/g RF single chip with the smallest package size and the lowest power consumption. It embeds Power Amplifier (PA), Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), Voltage Control Oscillator (VCO), Balun, Loop Filter, Power Detector, … etc. The chip size is only 4 mm x 4 mm, which is less than half to the closest competitor (6mm x 6mm). Besides, its current consumption is only around 210mA (at 21dBm output power) in transmit mode, and 60mA in receive mode. With these size and power consumption benefit, AL2239 is very ideal for size and power sensitive consumer products like smart-phone, WiFi phone, PMP and wireless headphone. This IC has been in mass production stage.
