"Best Network AI Solution for Fiber Networks" Shortlisted by Network X Awards 2025
With the growing demand for intelligent home connectivity, operators are facing higher expectations for speed, reliability, and personalized service—while also needing to manage cost and complexity. Our objective was to help fiber network operators to meet these challenges by embedding AI intelligence directly into the gateway. At the same time, operators are exploring the personalized services to increase the average revenue per user. Using the MediaTek Discrete AI engine, operators began prototyping AI-Hub use cases.
MediaTek Filogic’s future-ready edge-AI enables and explores a new era for Fiber Gateway. MediaTek Filogic AI Fiber Gateway— an embedded edge-AI solution, specifically trained for network optimization on 10G-PON with tri-band Wi-Fi 7 solution, combining Airoha’s AN7581 fiber SoC and MediaTek’s Filogic 680 Wi-Fi. It supports real-time network optimization empowering operators to deliver smarter, automated, secure, energy-efficiency, and differentiated fiber and Wi-Fi services.
"Enables": Real-Time Edge AI for Operational Gains
By embedding analytic AI at the gateway level, we achieved measurable improvements in Quality of Experience (QoE). The Filogic AI engine can intelligently identify applications such as VoIP, WebEx, YouTube, Netflix, STEAM gaming downloads, and more. It prioritizes traffic in real time, which helps reduce latency and improve bandwidth allocation. Operators reported (estimated figure for illustrative purposes):
- 30% reduction in complaints related to latency-sensitive services
- 25% improvement in streaming quality metrics
- 15% increase in first-time issue resolution, thanks to proactive traffic shaping
Our AI root-cause engine automated fault diagnostics by analyzing behavior patterns and system logs, reducing mean-time-to-resolve (MTTR) by up to 40%. Our AI-enhanced Wi-Fi interference mitigation system uses ML (Machine Learning) to identify co-channel/adjacent-channel, and non-Wi-Fi signal conflicts. It then selects the best MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) rates, channel bandwidths, and spatial streams by inference. This delivers a 20% boost in latency and throughput under congested environments. Cost optimization and commitments to net zero have made energy efficiency a strategic priority for operators. The AI energy-efficiency gateway will operate in different power-saving modes by learning the daily network usage patterns of home users. Initial results showed that the AI energy-efficiency engine can save 20% of power consumption.
"Explores": Generative & Agentic AI for Future-Ready Services
Using the MediaTek Discrete AI engine, operators began prototyping AI-Hub use cases. Pilots include:
- Generative AI for topology optimization and automatic policy generation
- AI-assisted customer service agents capable of natural language diagnostics
- Real-time alert systems powered by IP cameras integrated into the fiber gateway for events such as child safety near swimming pools or package delivery detection
In one operator trial, agentic AI reduced average call center load by 20%, while generative network planning tools improved backhaul utilization by 12%. These outcomes validate the potential of AI to not only improve performance but also act as a service innovation catalyst.
Together, “Enables” and “Explores” make the Filogic AI Fiber Gateway a future-ready platform. It is designed not just for today’s Wi-Fi Fiber gateway needs, but to adapt and evolve alongside the operator’s AI roadmap.
Thank you.
We will get back to you as soon as possible.
